God's Amazing Handiwork!

looking out over the Great Smokie Mountains in TN and being reminded once again that God is powerful and mighty!!! He is bigger than we ever imagine or take ownership in!! Such grand artistic work in the skies while He makes worshipful sunsets that cause me to weep.  He is so gracious to show me His magnificent grace.  His second chances are daily for me...sometimes they are minute by minute!  I love him!!!

" Right or left...which way God?"

Seeking direction from God should be second nature to us, however, many times I push quickly ahead without even consulting Him.  The scripture reminds us in Isaiah to look to the right and to the left; you will hear a voice instructing you which way to go!  Oh how I need to remember this each and every day as I make small and large decsions.  I have been studying Jonah and being reminded of his struggle to 'go his own way'.  We know where that landed him, don't we?  We're reminded that he began in Joppa and ended up 'back' in Joppa after the big fish spit him out!  He just did a full circle tour to learn that God gave him the directions that HE wanted him to take.  His disobedience costed him some pretty interesting experiences that I am sure he never forgot!  My prayer is to seek God and to listen for His direction...following through with obedience so that He doesn't have to cause life interruptions and bring me back to Joppa!!

In the Closet...On the Rooftop

I was listening to a devotion this morning on the way in to work by Beth Moore and the summation of her 10 minute talk rang very true to me. As believers we are always either 'in the closet...or on the rooftop'! In the closet with our hands lifted to the ONE who can speak genuinely to our heart and soul and fill us with everything we need to exit the closet. From there we emerge onto the rooftop where we are hopefully shouting out to a lost world what God gave us while in the closet. It is pretty much impossible to fully comprehend all that God wants us to 'chew' on without some time in the closet. If we are not willing to go there, usually He will 'send' us there. Something comes along that shakes us and we NEED Him. We have to crawl sometimes to that dark place to sit at His feet and drink in the very breath that He longs to give us daily. And after we sit a spell with Him allowing our heart to be drenched with His goodness and mercy...we storm out onto the rooftop to remind the world of the freedom that He gives. The air that we breathe. In the closet...on the rooftop...where are you today?

Mondays...beginning a new week with focus on loving others to Jesus

Mondays are always tough it seems. Is that psychological? Probably so. We just want more time off work...more time to explore life before jumping back into the 'pattern' called life. Learning how to begin Mondays and each new day with the postiive thought pattern that God wants me to have. With joy, thanksgiving and love for others. How quickly I got caught up this morning in my own agenda of 'self'. But the Holy Spirit reminded me that this world is not all about me. It's about loving others to Jesus...that they might see Him in me during my Monday and be saved from eternal life in hell. Now that's a great agenda...OTHERS...before me! Showing them the wonder of 'second chances' found only through the love of Jesus!
